Be healthy! New Year Promises

Everyone around is saying so much about plans and promises for the New Year that it gets a little scary. If all these people bring their ideas to life, then on January 1 we will wake up in a completely unfamiliar world, and very strange people will surround us: they look like acquaintances, and behave like strangers. You used to, that your friend eats pizza at midnight and at the same time watches American comedies – and on January 1 he will suddenly turn into an adept of a healthy lifestyle. You’re used to your girlfriend wearing jeans and sweaters, and on January 1 she will meet you in a flying dress. What is it, I did not subscribe to it, I do not need such a new life! How good it is that not everyone has the patience to start it. Yes, it is not necessary.

What is needed then? Do not sculpt a new person from yourself, but help yourself a little. Much better than any promises to yourself on the New Year – at least a balance between food and movement.

1. Eat greens at least once a day.

First, it is simple. Secondly, it is inexpensive. Thirdly, it is useful. Greens – an excellent antioxidant, it gives energy and even, they say, thin. And the immunity will say thank you! Spinach, lettuce, arugula (bue-uh) – that’s what you need. At least throw the dill in the morning omelet and in the soup.

2. Move and enjoy it

Why are so few people involved in sports? Usually they begin to do something that does not bring them pleasure. If you enjoyed your workout and every time rejoiced at it, you wouldn’t have thought about quitting! Hate cardio – no need to run. Go to the rocking chair, buy yourself weights or dumbbells (or both), start to do the push ups program – there are really plenty of options!

3. Drink more green tea.

Do not refuse coffee, just add to your daily routine a couple of green tea breaks – both for the body, and for the mind.

4. Read more for fun.

Recent studies have found that reading a book at least six minutes a day reduces stress by as much as 68 percent. Unexpected results! (By the way, who ever thought of doing this research? How do they think about it?) Unlike watching TV, reading helps the brain to break from the constant stimulation with which you bombard it during the day. Reading helps to calm down and plunge into fantasy. So read books at least ten minutes before bedtime! You can even come up with a challenge and overcome the book a week.

5. Hug your woman more often.

Physical manifestations of feelings have a beneficial effect on health, on the level of happiness, and even on the size of your belly. Yes, man, someone even investigated this question! When people embrace, their blood pressure decreases, the level of stress and cortisol, the stress hormone. Consequently, depression does not shine for you, if you are not afraid of snotty hugs – why are they terrible in them, after all? Hugs increase serotonin levels and help you feel happier, calmer, and more confident. Hugging – rogue therapy.
